DESCRIPTION:Our webinar series will discuss creating equitable education opportunities with intentional outcomes to take steps towards closing the achievement gaps in California schools and building a skilled ready workforce for Undocumented Students and Bringing College Readiness and Career Education to County Jails.  This is a free event.  \nTopic 2 : Bringing College Readiness and Career Education to California County Jails\nDates: Part I\,  May 3\, 2018 (10am – 11am) PST\nCorrectional Institutions and secondary and post secondary schools across California are partnering like never before. These partnerships are growing for good reason: higher education reduces recidivism\, changes lives\, and builds stronger communities. Sheriff’s Departments are working with their local secondary and post-secondary schools to offer GED completion\, career technical education\, and\, where feasible\, full-credit transferrable college courses inside county jails. These webinars will address how and why community colleges partner with Sheriff’s Departments and will explore innovate partnerships running Adult Education and Career Technical Education programs in county jails.
